Any thoughts on how we can incorporate our theme into school-wide events and ideas throughout the year? How can we integrate the theme into our first day ‘welcome back’ pep rally?

If this is your first visit to our staff blog – welcome! If you are returning, than welcome back! Take a few minute and poke around. Take a look at the tool bars on the right. You will find some norms, blog roll, and tags. I have left some previous entries (scroll down), so you can see how a blog works.  This is a great way to exchange ideas without actually having a meeting. Collaboration and innovation!

p.s. – click on the previous entries button in the lower left of your screen and it will take you to the very early posts on our blog. These posts are great for newbies. Watch this video.

I would like to make the content of the retreat as collaborative as possible. A day-and-a-half is not nearly long enough for us to engage in all things we want to explore and discuss, but it does allow a nice oportunity for the staff to get their footing on the new year.  With that said, pleae feel free to chime in with ideas and topics you would like to see added to our retreat agenda. I doubt time will allow for us to cover everything, but this will provide ideas for topics to cover throughout the year on PD days and staff meetings. I welcome your thoughts.

The conversation continues to grow on the topic of grading practices. Obviously grading can be a very emotional issue because of the long past practice and history of how we have conducted our grading practices in our teaching profession for so many years. Dennis presented some very compeling research and arguments that should allow us to examine our current practice and consider the professional literature. Let’ have a conversation and see where this journey will lead.
